The OpportunityWe are looking for visionary, curious, and energetic technology leader and builder who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. We are looking for a leader within the Visa Acceptance platform (part of VAS) to take charge of the ISV segment and drive exponential growth. As a Visa Senior Director, you will be leading a large multi-functional global development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.
As a senior technology leader, you will operate at the intersection of engineering excellence, product strategy, and business outcomes, influencing enterprise-wide architecture decisions and shaping Visa's technology roadmap across multiple regions and portfolios.
Essential Functions - A thought leader who is instrumental in hiring, managing, and retaining top class engineers.
- Responsible for mentoring and grooming teams to deliver high quality work.
- Manage various stakeholders such as Product, Release, Performance, Performance Engineering, Operations, and Infrastructure teams.
- Set high standard goals for engineers in alignment with organizational goals, and help teams achieve them.
- Oversee daily activities of Release Engineering and DevOps.
- Participate in strategic discussions and work closely with executive leadership teams to implement defined strategies.
- Lead the Developer Productivity Team's strategic efforts - working on all three layers of the stack related to infrastructure, middleware, and continuous integration and delivery frameworks.
- Support the implementation of new programs and subprograms, as well as enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software.
- Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis to address routine to moderately complex reporting issues with accuracy or performance.
- Analyze workloads and application inventories to determine optimal utilization patterns.
- Responsible for all types of vulnerability remediation in non-production environments.
- Define and evolve Build and Release best practice by working within teams and educating other stakeholder teams. These best practices should support traceability and auditability of change.
We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but did not work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience
- Proven experience delivering highly scalable and available production systems
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication/articulation skills
- Strong business acumen, ability to grasp big picture and explain to team in simple terms.
- Track record of hiring and managing world-class software engineers
- Ability to manage multiple competing top priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Hands on experience in AI/ML implementation
- Strong DevOps mind set and experience
- Hands on experience in building highly scalable Developer Productivity tools
- Thought leader with high standard of work ethics and emotional intelligence.
- 5+ years of experience of leading large global teams
- 5+ years of experience shipping highly scalable and distributed services
- Deep expertise in AI and Agentic development and shipping AI powered features
U.S. Applicants OnlyThe estimated salary range for this position is $206,100.00 to $ 360,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
