Position Summary:

The successful candidate will function as a high-level strategic business partner to the Performance Foodservice Northeast Regional President and other members of the Northeast Regional team. As a senior level HR professional, they will be responsible for planning and directing all phases of human resources within the Northeast Region, to including strategic sourcing/recruiting, wage and salary administration, employee and labor relations, safety, and overall HR/Legal compliance. Often assists with difficult employee counseling sessions regarding EEO charges, Americans with Disability Act (ADA), performance, and terminations. Ensures quality operations of human resource processes at the individual locations and provides guidance to Performance Foodservice HR teams and Location Presidents (9 locations in Region). Travel expectations are 50-60%. Requires thorough knowledge of human resource policies and procedures as well as federal and state laws.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Take active role in ensuring company policies and programs support our values and create a culture of high morale and high achievement. Work with field Human Resources teams and OpCo (Location) management to ensure compliance with regard to HR policies and procedures and to maximize strategic value of HR function.
  • Serve as a liaison between the corporate office and the field; providing communication and support for corporate initiatives; Act as a Company HR representative on special committees, teams and projects as needed.
  • Provide expertise to OpCo's regarding employee/labor relations issues, complaints, discipline and terminations. Provide guidance in situations that are non-routine in nature. Serve as a second level appeal for associate conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate company response to legal issues including but not limited to Equal Employment Office Commission (EEOC) and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) claims and the Department of Labor (DOL) and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Commission Programs (OFCCP) regulatory audits.
  • Provide staffing guidance to include identifying critical staffing needs, assessing turnover and plans to address, providing recruiting support (interviewing, assessments, coaching on effective interviewing, etc.)
  • Identify and provide solutions for OpCo training needs to include supporting succession planning programs, coordinating training, creating and conducting training sessions. Ensure leaders at all levels have the skills necessary to lead effectively and manage their teams at a high productivity level.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards


Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business, or related field
• 10+ years related HR experience
• Experience in multi-segment/region
• Union and CBA experience
• Must be located in NORTHEAST Region of the US (Boston, New York, Baltimore, etc)

Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree/MBA
• Significant HR experience with several years in a leadership role
• Proven success in managing various HR functions, such as recruitment, compliance, employee relations, and
organizational development
• Ability to develop and lead comprehensive HR strategies that align with business goals
• Effective collaboration with executives, employees, and external partners
• Experience in leading organizational change and managing transitions
• Strong understanding of labor laws, regulations, and HR policies
• Proficiency in using data to inform decision-making and measure HR initiatives' impact
• Knowledge of HR systems and tools, such as HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems)
• Foodservice, Distribution, Manufacturing or comparable experience preferred
• SPHRR or SHRM-SCP
