Overview

Assembly is seeking a Sr. Director, Programmatic to lead our programmatic team under the guidance of the VP, Programmatic. This strategic leadership role is responsible for driving programmatic excellence across client portfolios, ensuring campaign performance, and fostering team development. In addition to leading execution for key clients, this role plays a critical part in supporting the overarching growth of the programmatic discipline across the agency—helping to shape best practices, drive innovation, and elevate Assembly’s programmatic offering.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of programmatic business across key clients, supported by a team of traders.
  • Develop and implement strategic optimization plans using data analysis, technical expertise, and client feedback.
  • Oversee campaign execution, performance evaluation, and ongoing optimization across all programmatic dimensions.
  • Identify and present opportunities to leverage programmatic media to meet client objectives.
  • Drive cross-channel integration initiatives and collaborate with internal teams to enhance media strategies.
  • Champion programmatic excellence across the agency by contributing to thought leadership, process development, and innovation.
  • Communicate the value of programmatic capabilities, technologies, and partnerships to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to promote innovation and continuous learning across the organization.
  • Stay current on platform features and best practices for activation, measurement, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with platform, inventory, and data partners to develop and refine targeted media programs.
  • Troubleshoot campaign issues and oversee QA processes for pre-production and live campaigns.
  • Support the development and implementation of process standards and training for team members.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members, fostering their growth in campaign management and communication.
  • Partner with account teams to evolve program recommendations and uncover untapped opportunities.
  • Occasionally support new business initiatives involving programmatic strategy and execution.

Qualifications Tools & Technical Expertise
  • 8-10+ years of hands-on experience with self-managed DSP platforms.
  • Deep understanding of programmatic campaign execution across:
    • CTV
    • Native
    • Proximity targeting
    • Prospecting vs. Remarketing
    • PMP executions
    • Audio/Video
    • SSP direct deals
  • Ability to interpret campaign performance and optimize toward CPA, ROAS, or awareness goals.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience troubleshooting campaign issues and overseeing QA processes.
  • Familiarity with platform features and techniques for activating, measuring, and optimizing media programs.

Compensation (Text Only)In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $ 160,000-170,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
