The Sr. Director, Professional & Support Services provides administrative oversight to a number of the facility's professional services and support departments. Ensures that the overall mission and goals are achieved by participating in the formulation of clinical objectives, services, policies, and procedures. Supports patient and family centered initiatives enhance the mission of the hospital. The Sr. Director, Professional & Support Services provides administrative oversight to a number of the facility's professional services and support departments. What you will do
3Develops and implements a participatory strategic planning process for the areas under the direction of this position.
3Provides direct oversight and leadership in the development of evidence-based standardization of system clinical processes and standards for areas of responsibility. Ensures that patient and family centered initiatives are achieved.
3Provides leadership in the oversight and improvement of clinical and support services operations to ensure the delivery of quality, patient and family-centered care.
3Responsible for establishing and monitoring performance expectations in areas of responsibility.
3Acts as advisor and mentor to next level of leaders to promote success in their major responsibilities and to help them achieve growth.
3Develops strong physician/administrator relationships and partnerships to facilitate evidence-based standardization of clinical processes.
3Prepares budgets and demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources including human resources, equipment, supplies, and contracted services. Ensures the assigned areas of responsibility achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
3Investigates new developments in healthcare practice and technique and recommends programs for specific patient care needs.
3Ensures compliance with standards and regulations from local, state and federal governments.
3Directs or provides oversight for the activities of Associates reporting to the operational and support areas; monitors Associates performance and clarifies work expectations, assists with goal setting, and promotes cooperation among individuals and groups.
3Develops and implements processes through orientation, training and education to ensure that the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained, and demonstrated throughout their employment.
3Enhances and strengthens working relationships between the areas of responsibility and those departments that provide a variety of services.
3Maintains close liaison and positive working relationships with hospital administration, corporate leaders, aligned physician practices, and other Associates in the pursuit of the resolution of problems relating to the areas of responsibility.
3Develops innovative solutions to successfully achieve desired outcomes; builds and leads a culture of innovative service delivery.
3Supports and participates in the achievement of hospital goals established annually.
3Pursues or participates in business development activities in accordance with organizational strategy.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
3Required - Master's Degree Healthcare Administration
3Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Business Administration

Work Experience Requirements
3Required - Progressive leadership 3-5 years
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
3Knowledge of healthcare with successful record of resolving critical issues, contribution to business unit/area development, and improved operational efficiencies.
3Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as business plans.
3Excellent communication skills including a high degree of professionalism and personal presence.
3Expertise in skills of planning, budgeting, resource allocation and management, and building collaborative teams.
3Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups toward the accomplishment of organizational goals.
3Possesses good analytical and problem solving skills.
3Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, integrity and diplomacy.
3Analytical ability to conceptualize well in unstructured, dynamic environments requiring analysis, foresight, intuition and mature judgment as well as knowledge of theories, principles, and practices to find solutions to unusual or unprecedented problems.
3Skill in negotiating with and between individuals and groups of people, including Associates, management, and physicians.
3Experience in strategic planning and the preparation, implementation and monitoring of operating budgets.
3Sound judgment sufficient to ensure the integrity of clinical operations and to provide exemplary leadership in the development of teamwork among clinic staff, as well as in setting performance and motivational standards for Associates.
Supervision Provided by this Position
3Directs the functional leaders in assigned areas. Manages directly or indirectly the clinical leaders, clinical and professional staff, support services staff, and administrative support staff in assigned areas.
3Professional Services areas: Lab/Blood Bank, Rehab Services, I/P and O/P Cardiac Rehab, Respiratory Therapy, EEG, and other areas as assigned
Support Services areas: Material Services, EVS, Transport, Food, Security, and other areas as assigned
Physical Demands
3The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
3Must have good balance and coordination.
3The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
3The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
3The conditions to which the Associate will be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions; job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
