What does a successful Sr. Director, Product Management for Merchant Capital?As the Senior Director of Product Management for Merchant Capital, you will define the overarching product vision and multi-year strategy to help SMBs manage cashflow for their businesses. You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of Product Managers dedicated to solving complex merchant cash flow and financing needs.
Operating at the strategic intersection of fintech, commerce, and product growth, you will champion the end-to-end merchant lifecycle across all platforms (device, web, and mobile)-owning executive alignment, multi-generational roadmaps, and business performance metrics to reshape how merchants manage their financial health.
What you will do:Product Strategy, Vision & Roadmap- Define Multi-Year Strategy: Establish the strategic product vision, multi-generational roadmaps, and portfolio priorities for Clover's Capital products and lending capabilities.
- End-to-End Lifecycle Ownership: Drive the full product lifecycle from market discovery and opportunity sizing through launch, scale, and continuous optimization across web, mobile, and in-person POS channels.
- Business Case & Commercial Viability: Build executive-level business cases-including financial models, opportunity sizing, ROI analysis, and monetization strategies-to align capital and resource allocation behind high-impact growth initiatives.
- Data-Driven Discovery: Leverage deep data analytics, merchant feedback, and market research to identify structural cash flow friction and evaluate Build vs. Buy vs. Partner/Integrate expansion strategies.
People Leadership & Executive Alignment- People Management & Coaching: Hire, manage, develop, and retain a high-performing team of Product Managers. Provide clear direction, foster career growth, and establish operational excellence across product squads.
- Cross-Functional Portfolio Guidance: Oversee and empower product managers in their daily execution-guiding sprint prioritization, backlog grooming, user story definition, and cross-functional dependency management without needing to act as a tactical Scrum Lead yourself.
- Executive Stakeholder Alignment: Partner closely with executive leadership (C-suite, Business Unit Heads, Engineering VPs) to communicate vision, present progress against strategic KPIs, and secure cross-functional commitments across Product Marketing, Design, Data Science, and Operations.
- Go-To-Market Execution:Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success leadership to build comprehensive go-to-market and adoption strategies for major product rollouts.
What you need to have:- 10+ years of progressive Product Management experience in digital software, SaaS, or fintech environments.
- 4+ years of direct People Management experience successfully leading, mentoring, and scaling teams of Product Managers.
- Demonstrated Strategic Track Record:Proven experience defining product vision, building multi-year roadmaps, and successfully executing large-scale, complex product portfolios.
- Fintech & Financial Services Expertise: Hands-on product leadership in SMB lending, merchant financing, business cash flow tools, or embedded financial services.
- Multi-Platform Experience: Broad track record delivering seamless, unified user experiences across Web, iOS, Android, and/or point-of-sale hardware touchpoints.
- Data & Commercial Acumen: Proven mastery in leveraging metrics, A/B testing, and financial modeling to influence executive decision-making and drive core business outcomes.
- Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a history of driving alignment across matrixed engineering, business, and executive teams.
What is nice to have:- Direct experience evaluating Build vs. Buy vs. Partner frameworks and executing third-party financial platform integrations.
- Deep expertise in the SMB POS, acquiring, or merchant payments ecosystem.
- Experience scaling product operations within enterprise SaaS or fintech organizations.
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Computer Science/Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
How you'll work:This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity. This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.

Salary Range$155,000.00 - $258,000.00
These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
