Senior Director Product Design

How you'll contribute to our mission
At Frontline Education, product design plays a central role in how educators experience the tools that support their schools. As Senior Director of Product Design, you will shape how our entire product ecosystem comes together into a connected, intuitive platform that helps educators spend less time navigating systems and more time supporting students.

This role focuses on bringing clarity, cohesion, and meaning to the experiences we build. You will guide how our products work together, how they evolve over time, and how we communicate their value to customers and the broader education community.

Working alongside leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales, you will help transform complex strategies into experiences and narratives that are simple, powerful, and impactful.

How you'll drive success
• Define and evolve the experience strategy across Frontline's product ecosystem, ensuring our solutions feel connected, intuitive, and scalable.
• Guide product teams in designing workflows that reinforce the value of a unified platform while supporting flexibility for individual product innovation.
• Partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape long-term platform direction through a human-centered perspective.
• Establish shared experience principles that help teams design with consistency while maintaining creativity and ownership.
• Mentor and support product designers and researchers, encouraging outcome-focused thinking and continuous learning.
• Encourage discovery practices that keep customer needs at the center of roadmap and experience decisions.
• Strengthen collaboration across empowered product teams so design remains a trusted strategic partner throughout the organization.
• Translate complex product strategies into compelling narratives and visuals that resonate with executives, customers, and the market.
• Partner with Go-To-Market, Marketing, and Sales teams to communicate platform value through clear, engaging storytelling.
• Lead the creation of impactful artifacts such as product vision presentations, experience frameworks, and executive storytelling materials.
• Guide the continued evolution of Frontline's design systems to support accessibility, consistency, and scale across the platform.
• Establish thoughtful governance practices that maintain experience quality while empowering teams to move quickly.
• Encourage experimentation, research, and insight-driven decision making to improve usability, adoption, and customer satisfaction.
• Explore emerging tools and approaches that help design teams learn faster, uncover insights, and communicate ideas more effectively.

What you bring to help us grow
• Significant experience leading product design or experience strategy within SaaS or enterprise technology environments.
• A track record of shaping cross-product or platform-level experiences that bring multiple products together into a cohesive ecosystem.
• Strong storytelling ability that connects product vision, customer experience, and business outcomes.
• Experience influencing executive leaders and guiding cross-functional collaboration across complex organizations.
• Deep understanding of modern product development environments where design, product, and engineering collaborate closely.
• Systems thinking that allows you to see connections between products, workflows, and customer outcomes.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and how thoughtful use of new tools can enhance creativity, insight, and collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human Computer Interaction, or a related discipline. Advanced study is welcomed but not required.

What you'll need to thrive
• A strategic mindset that connects long-term vision with practical design execution.
• Confidence communicating ideas visually and verbally to a wide range of audiences.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity while helping teams find clarity and direction.
• A collaborative leadership style that empowers teams while maintaining high standards of craft and experience quality.
• Curiosity and openness to new ways of working, learning, and solving problems.
• A commitment to designing experiences that are inclusive, accessible, and meaningful for the educators and school communities we serve.
