McKesson isseekinga strategic and transformational leader to serve as the Senior Director, Global Payroll Operations. This critical leadership roleis responsible foroverseeing the end-to-end payroll function across the United States and Canada, including Payroll Operations, Payroll Tax & Accounting, and Payroll Support.
The Senior Director will drive payroll strategy, operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuringaccurateandtimelypayroll delivery for a large and diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
3 Develop and execute a long-term vision and strategy for payroll operations.
3 Lead payroll transformation initiatives focused on optimization, automation, and scalability.
3Establishand monitor KPIs and operational metrics.
3 Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Payroll Operations & Service Delivery
3 Oversee U.S. and Canadian payroll processing.
3 Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
3 Partner with HRIS, Time & Attendance, Benefits, and Finance teams.
3 Drive operational consistency and service excellence.
Compliance, Risk Management & Controls
3 Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and tax laws.
3Maintaina strong internal control framework.
3 Oversee payroll tax reporting, audits, and reconciliations.
3 Partner with Internal and External Audit teams.
Leadership & Talent Development
3 Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing payroll teams.
3 Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
3 Provide guidance on complex payroll issues.
3 Develop succession plans and leadership capabilities.
Cross-Functional Partnership
3 Partner with HR, Finance, Accounting, Tax, IT, and Shared Services.
3 Lead payroll-related projects and system implementations.
3 Manage relationships with payroll providers and vendors.
3 Support business transformation, M&A, and integration activities.
Minimum Requirements
3Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3 10+ years of progressive payroll leadership experience.
3 5+ years leading managers and large payroll organizations.
Critical Skills & Qualifications
3 Experience leading U.S. multi-state and Canadian payroll operations.
3 Deep knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance.
3 Experience with Workday, ADP, SAP, Dayforce, Oracle, or similar payroll systems.
3 Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
3 Proven success leading payroll transformation initiatives.
3 Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills.
3 Exceptional problem-solving and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
3Master'sdegree preferred.
3 Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
3 PMP or related leadershipcertificationspreferred.
3 Experience within large public companies or shared services organizations.
