Opportunity

The Sr. Director-Distributionand Fulfillment is accountable for strategically designing and tacticallymanaging all functions of Distribution and Shipping, Sales Enablement Projectmanagement, Network Planning, Shipment Planning and Continuous Improvement.This includes all Distribution Centers and Warehouse operations for Kohlerwithin the Kitchen & Bath Americas (KBA) distribution network. The Director manages the strategic relationship between Kohler Co.and selective 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) providers for the Kitchen& Bath North America business in United States,Canada and Mexico. Director also develops and implementslong term warehouse, shipping and network strategies, in addition to short-termwarehouse, shipping and network plans, consistent with the strategic andfinancial objectives of the Kitchen & Bath Americas organization. They alsohave full responsibility for managing the aggregate performance for the Kitchen& Bath North America Warehouse operations including Cost, Quality, Safety,Service and Sustainability. Budget responsibility for approximately $200MM in Warehouseand Shipping. The Sr. Director-Distribution& Fulfillment is also responsible for establishing and maintaining aDistribution Center Design and Automation strategy.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accountable for overall Distribution Center and Warehouse operations for Kohler within the Kitchen & Bath Americas distribution network. Manage, measure, and continuously improve the warehouse and shipping processes used by the business. Ensure that effective, consistent policies and practices are employed across the distribution network.
  • Create and lead change for continuous improvement and for business growth. Synthesize and communicate a vision; build coalition and produce action
  • Develop effectivepartnerships with Customer Service, Sales & Operations, Planning,Marketing, Operations and Sales to ensure all functions and teams are workingin concert to produce business results. Develop a solid understanding ofcustomers, markets and competitors to properly guide thebusiness from a warehouse and shipping perspective. Ensure all team membersunderstand customer needs and are focused on improvements enabling Kohler Co.to outperform competition.
  • Manage the execution of objectives for warehouse, shipping, shipment planning, project management, network planning, and continuous improvement, including project timeline adherence, budget/spending, driving efficiencies, controlling labor costs, associate engagement, succession planning, business and competency objective setting and reviews.
  • Develop and implement Kohler Co. strategic sourcing and operations strategies for 3PL Warehouse & Distribution providers in the KBNA distribution network.
  • Complete P&L and budget responsibility for Distribution Center and Warehouse operations for Kohler within the Kitchen & Bath North America distribution network. Responsible for ongoing financial performance and monthly forecast.
  • Project future requirements in areas of equipment, capital, labor and facilities to meet projected levels of operation and inventories. Develop capital budgets for Kitchen & Bath North America; plan replacement and new capital requirements needed for current and future projects.
  • Champion Cost Savings initiatives; responsible for stream-lining processes by eliminating non-value activity in supply chain; target and implement cost improvements to offset inflation and commodity pressures year after year.
  • Manage inventory accuracy and storage methods for all facilities.
  • Collaborate on packaging engineering projects and package design for Kitchen and Bath products.
  • Responsible for applicable On-time and Order fulfillment cycle time goals and objectives, and related projects for improvement.
  • Responsible for applicable incident rate goals and objectives, as well as related projects for improvement.
  • Arrange for proper maintenance and good housekeeping of machines, equipment and facilities within the Kitchen & Bath North America distribution network through Kohler Co. service departments and outside contract areas.
  • Develop skills for warehouse, shipping, network planning, project management, shipment planning, and continuous improvement expertise and leadership talent to build bench strength for successful ongoing Succession Planning. Provide an environment to allow each associate to reach their full potential. Deal with low performing associates promptly and fairly. Including the following competence areas

Skills/Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a master'sdegree preferred and 10-15years of experience inmulti-facility warehousing, distribution and transportation operations.
  • Specificknowledge in multi-site distribution networks. Knowledge of materialsmanagement, inventory control, warehouse and Distribution Center operations,material handling equipment is required. Experience and understanding ofInternational Transportation and Global Trade compliance is required. Required experience negotiating contracts,and creating and managing budgets and capital plans is essential. Must havestrong, demonstrated leadership competencies that have driven results in theareas of Cost, Quality, Service, Safety, and Sustainability in Warehousing andDistribution Center environment. Previous success demonstrated visionaryleadership and big picture thinking by creating and executing a strategicvision required.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
