Full Job Description
Job Summary
The Senior Director, Business Operations & Planning directs the analytical and operational agenda for Xumo's FAST business. The role orchestrates business cases, modeling, and performance analysis that inform senior leadership decisions on partnerships, monetization, and investment, and influences operational direction across the function. Working in close partnership with Finance, Commercial, Product, Content, and Business Intelligence, the role drives cross-functional analytical workstreams, provides the FAST business perspective into corporate planning processes, and represents Business Operations & Planning in executive forums. This is a highly cross-functional and senior-facing role, requiring commercial fluency, strong analytical and modeling skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across the organization and drive outcomes without direct authority. This is an individual contributor role; the Senior Director is expected to be hands-on with the analytical work, not only directing it. This role reports to the VP, Business Operations & Planning.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Direct analysis and business case development across Xumo Play and Xumo Enterprise to inform major decisions on new partnerships, market expansion, monetization approaches, and investment trade-offs - in partnership with Commercial, Finance, Product, and Content teams.
  • Orchestrate analytical work behind growth initiatives, including market sizing, international expansion, new monetization opportunities, and evaluation of new business models - in partnership with the Strategy & Operations team.
  • Lead financial and business modeling for partner deals, scenario analysis, and business case development; ensure rigor and consistency in how the function approaches modeling and decision support.
  • Provide the FAST business perspective in budget and long-range planning processes led by Finance, including scenario modeling, planning inputs, and business assumptions.
  • Direct the business operations work for Xumo Enterprise - partner economics, deal structuring, profitability analysis, and business cases for international platforms and content partners.
  • Oversee deep-dive analyses on Xumo Play business performance (engagement, retention, monetization, and growth) in partnership with Business Intelligence and Product, translating data into clear narratives and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead variance analysis and root cause diagnostics, and develop the analytical decks, memos, and talking points that frame business performance and strategic analysis for Executive Leadership audiences.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that span Business Operations and adjacent teams (Finance, Business Intelligence, Product) including operational improvement, data and reporting infrastructure, and other multi-team workstreams.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Professional Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience across business operations, strategic finance, corporate development, management consulting, or strategy roles, with meaningful time in an operating role.
  • Streaming, media, or digital platform experience required; direct experience with FAST, AVOD, SVOD, or platform / distribution businesses is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills, with the ability to build financial and business models, stress-test assumptions, and translate outputs into clear business recommendations.
  • Strong commercial fluency, with a deep understanding of revenue, cost, and margin levers across consumer and B2B businesses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complexity into clear narratives and prepare executive-ready materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence decision-making at the senior leadership level.
  • Proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Periscope, PowerPoint / Google Slides).

Preferred Attributes
  • Experience working within or alongside Finance, Commercial, Product, or Strategy teams in a streaming or platform business.
  • Prior exposure to ad-supported digital platforms, partner / distribution ecosystems, and / or international platform expansion.
  • Player-coach mindset, comfortable doing hands-on analysis while also developing others and supporting the broader team.
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred but not required.
  • Position is office based in Irvine, CA or Philadelphia, PA 4 days/week in office & 1 day remote.
