Responsibilities

Peraton is delivering advanced mission planning, digital engineering, and command‑and‑control capabilities supporting the U.S. Government’s space communications enterprise. Our team uses modern MBSE practices to translate mission needs into precise, traceable, and verifiable technical requirements across a complex, multi‑system environment.

 

As a SR Digital Engineer / MBSE Analyst, you will lead the technical planning and execution of digital‑twin development efforts in close coordination with systems engineering, analytics, and software teams. You will shape concepts, architectures, and integration patterns that ensure digital‑twin capabilities are aligned, interoperable, and technically sound, while contributing to authoritative MBSE and digital‑engineering artifacts that guide system design and implementation.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead technical planning and execution of digital‑twin activities to ensure alignment with program objectives and engineering priorities.
  • Support the development of digital‑twin concepts, architectures, use cases, and technical roadmaps in partnership with program stakeholders.
  • Assist in adapting Peraton Labs’ agentic AI and digital‑twin capabilities to meet evolving mission and system needs.
  • Define component‑level requirements based on operational needs, system‑engineering objectives, system behaviors, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with model‑interoperability approaches, data‑exchange expectations, fidelity guidance, and integration patterns across digital‑twin and simulation environments.
  • Work with data, AI/ML, software, and systems‑engineering teams to identify and integrate required data sources, dependencies, inputs, outputs, assumptions, and validation methods.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, sequencing concerns, integration challenges, and capability gaps associated with digital‑twin development.
  • Ensure digital‑twin efforts remain aligned with MBSE practices, CTO advanced‑analytics initiatives, and broader program and stakeholder needs.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree and 14+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cloud Computing, or related field and 12+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR a master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cloud Computing, or related field and 10+ years of experience in a systems engineering related field; OR a Ph.D. and 7+ years of experience. Additional four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • This position requires the candidate possess an active TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance
  • 5+ years of experience applying MBSE in complex system environments.
  • Experience developing and supporting systems‑engineering processes across the full system lifecycle, including analysis, planning, design, development, deployment, integration, testing, or configuration of software.
  • Expertise using the Cameo Systems Modeler suite of tools.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with MBSE validation suites.
  • Experience generating documents or specifications directly from MBSE models.
  • Experience with MBSE model federation.
  • Experience developing MBSE style guides or modeling standards.

Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
