is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. Candidate will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for developing, enhancing, testing, and supporting complex enterprise applications. The role will focus heavily on Java development, Oracle database updates, production support, technical debt reduction, and delivery of application enhancements within an Agile environment.
Required Qualifications of the Senior Java Developer:- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an accepted combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in application development, systems testing, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience developing applications with Java and Eclipse.
- Experience working with Oracle databases and performing database updates.
- Proficiency with Hibernate 3.0+ and Spring Framework, including experience with versions 3.x, 5.x, and/or 6.x.
- Experience using Jenkins and GitHub within a software development environment.
- Strong understanding of software development life-cycle, systems analysis, integration, testing, and troubleshooting practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates must currently be located within approximately 30-45 minutes of the Columbia, South Carolina area; relocating candidates must already be local before submission.
Preferred Skills/Experience of the Senior Java Developer:- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring to other developers.
- Background supporting complex, interconnected enterprise applications.
- Experience with production support, application modernization, and technical debt remediation.
- Familiarity with application, component, and data architecture concepts.
Responsibilities of the Senior Java Developer:- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, and support complex Java applications.
- Develop application enhancements and perform Oracle database updates while ensuring solutions align with technical and business requirements.
- Investigate and resolve complex production issues and evaluate the downstream impact of application changes.
- Collaborate with business analysts, customers, developers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, design recommendations, and development guidance to other team members.
- Participate throughout the full software development life cycle, including Agile planning, development, testing, implementation, documentation, and ongoing support.
Work Location: Columbia, South Carolina area - hybrid schedule requiring onsite work approximately 3 days per week, with additional onsite presence as needed.
