Sr. Designer - Handbags is responsible for designing Steve Madden Mainline handbags, from concept through final product in partnership with Design Manager. This position supports the Wholesale Handbags business.

Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Design Manager
- Help develop silhouette direction, hardware and print development
- Work with material trends and handbag concepts
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Specific Job Skills: Essential duties include - Create technical spec sheets
- work cross functionally with production team to maintain design intent and quality
- Track development progress and communication with oversea factories
- Presentation boards
- Line sheets
- Styling and merchandising of product
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Fashion design or related field
- Minimum of 4-6 years' experience, preferably in handbag or accessories
- A strong aesthetic sensibility with a high-level creative attention to detail
- Strong visual and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of handbag construction, materials, hardware and trims
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $85,000-$100,000. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
