Civil 3D Designer to join our Engineering office located in
Charlotte, North Carolina. This is a great opportunity to get involved with exciting and challenging projects with long-lasting customers.
The ideal candidate will focus heavily on Civil 3D design and modeling, supporting industrial and energy-related projects through the development of grading, drainage, and site development deliverables. This position requires collaboration with engineers and other designers to provide detailed civil models, quantity take-offs, constructability reviews, and multidisciplinary coordination throughout all phases of project execution. Adaptability, technical competency, and the ability to support project teams in a fast-paced EPC environment are essential for success in this role.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities- Develop and maintain Civil 3D models for grading, drainage, and site development.
- Generate and manage digital terrain models (DTMs), surfaces, and contour maps.
- Assist in the creation and annotation of civil drawings, including grading plans, cut/fill maps, earthwork balance figures, drainage layouts, and 3D views for constructability reviews.
- Extract quantities and generate detailed MTOs from Civil 3D models.
- Coordinate surface and utility data with piping, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
- Support revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Follow company CAD standards, templates, and workflows.
- Participate in model reviews and design coordination meetings.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of Civil 3D templates, styles, and data shortcuts.
QualificationsQualifications- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant civil drafting or design experience using Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Proficient in Civil 3D tools for surfaces, grading, and volume calculations.
- Experience producing construction documents and MTOs in a design office or EPC environment.
- Understanding of site development principles, grading, and drainage.
- Familiarity with coordinate systems, georeferencing, and survey data integration.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Strong analytical and systems analysis capabilities.
