Role SummaryAs a Sr. Design Release Engineer, Service Engineering (DRE), it is your responsibility to oversee the creation, approval and release of service specific mechanical and electrical parts for use in Rivian service environments. You will work with service engineers to define and create 2D drawings and 3D renderings to meet Rivian service part release requirements.
Responsibilities- Lead the release of service-only electrical assemblies with special focus on wire harness/wire harness component creation.
- Coordinate with service engineers to conceptualize and design part assemblies to meet Rivian service needs.
- Provide relevant technical input as needed.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and drive projects to completion.
- Maintain documentation that keeps track of decisions and approvals.
- Lead the release of service-only mechanical assemblies.
- Create/manage bill of materials(BOM) of wiring harness repair components.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in related Engineering field.
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant field
- Experience working in an automotive environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in CATIA (V5/V6) is required, including part design, geometric surface design, section studies, and concept 3D CAD during initial development. DREs must be able to manipulate CAD data, generate 2D drawings, and create high-quality A-surfaces that meet design and manufacturing requirements.
- Ability to create and interpret GD&T drawings, perform tolerance stack-up analysis for fit and finish, and ensure perceived quality requirements are met.
- Maintain engineering bill of materials and perform change management using systems like Enovia.
- Cross-functional Teamwork: DREs must be able to engage in cross-functional activities to address concerns and resolve issues, with the support of Service Engineering.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly and collaborating effectively with all stakeholders.
Pay DisclosureThe salary range for this role is $107,800 to $134,800 for Irvine, CA based applicants and $98,500 to $123,100 for Plymouth, MI based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
