Job Overview
The Sr. Design Manager, Store Design Implementation leads the execution of store design initiatives and programs, ensuring T-Mobile's retail environments are delivered with consistency, quality, and operational discipline. This role translates approved design direction, strategies, and concepts into executable, scalable programs - overseeing new stores, remodels, relocations, and refreshes from direction through deployment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in retail design implementation, vendor performance management, and multi-program coordination at scale.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Implementation Leadership & Program Delivery: Lead the successful execution of new stores, remodels, relocations, refreshes, and retail programs from approved design direction through deployment. Coordinate implementation activities across internal stakeholders, field teams, and external partners to meet program timelines, quality standards, and business objectives.
  • Design Governance & Standards: Develop, maintain, and apply store design standards, specifications, and implementation guidelines to ensure consistency across the fleet. Lead constructability, scalability, compliance, and brand alignment reviews. Manage change control processes and ensure design documentation is current, complete, and field-ready.
  • Vendor Deliverables & Performance Management: Manage architectural design, fabrication, and implementation vendor deliverables and performance to ensure quality, timing, and accountability. Partner with Procurement, internal stakeholders, and leadership on vendor engagement, issue resolution, and performance improvement.
  • Risk, Compliance & Change Management: Identify and mitigate constructability, compliance, schedule, and operational risks before they impact delivery. Ensure adherence to ADA requirements, local building codes, and internal company standards. Lead implementation change management as priorities shift across programs.
  • Operational Excellence & Process Optimization: Improve implementation workflows, handoffs, and governance processes to increase speed, quality, and predictability. Establish repeatable practices that reduce friction and strengthen program execution. Use lessons learned and KPI feedback to recommend improvements to how the team operates.
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed.


Education and Work Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design. Bachelor's Degree preferred; additional relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree (Preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in design management with a strong portfolio of work within the retail, hospitality, or restaurant design industry (Required)
  • 3+ years of experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams through large-scale, multi-store design and implementation programs (Required)
  • Fluency in 3D design and visualization tools including Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and rendering software (VRay, Enscape) (Required)
  • Working knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, and compliance standards applicable to commercial retail spaces (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality and attention to detail (Required)
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering retail design projects on time and within budget (Required)
  • Knowledge of retail construction, fixtures, materials, and finishes (Required)
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office 365 for design presentations and business communications (Required)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships across departments and with external partners (Required)

Base Pay Range: $97,900 - $176,600

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
