Job Summary:Job Description:PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr Data Scientist in Chicago, IL
Job Duties: Design, develop, and maintain data-driven solutions for LE risk management. Make sound decisions that balance risk, user experience, and financial performance. Develop and automate tracking functionality that monitor volume and solution efficacy. Partner with Product and Business Unit organization to meet Product launch roadmap deadlines as well as rising roadblocks Present to senior management within Risk and Business Unit, even external Partners on core strategy changes, integration requirement or risk management best practice. Manage conversion rate, loss target and customer experience. Collaborate with cross functional teams, presenting in a clear and concise manner to reach alignment on how to execute risk strategies. Responsible for data analysis, monitoring and forecasting, creating the logic and implementing risk rules and strategies, providing requirements to data science and technology teams on attribute, model and platform requirements, and communicating with global stakeholders to ensure we deliver the best possible customer experience while meeting loss rate targets. Work in a fast paced and intellectually challenged environment to solve complex business problems. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field, plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a closely related field, plus three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
- Experience with predicative modeling, data mining, and analyzing large, multi-dimensional data sets (2 years)
- Experience with SQL and R (2 years)
- Experience with Python (1 year)
- Experience with relational database management system
- Experience with one of the following: Jupyter, Hadoop/Hive, or Big Query (2 years)
- Experience with financial risk analysis (2 years)
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:

Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
