Full Job Description
McLane is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Cybersecurity Operations Analyst to join our growing Cybersecurity Operations team. In this role, you'll serve as a frontline defender against cyber threats, helping protect critical business systems, data, and operations across the enterprise. You'll play a key role in the detection, investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents. You'll work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals while gaining hands-on experience with security monitoring tools, threat intelligence, incident response procedures, and modern cybersecurity operations.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM platforms and other cybersecurity tools to identify suspicious activity.
  • Investigate and triage security alerts to determine risk, impact, and appropriate response actions.
  • Assist with the containment, eradication, and recovery of cybersecurity incidents.
  • Document investigations, response actions, and incident findings while contributing to post-incident reports and lessons learned.
  • Support threat hunting activities and proactive security assessments to identify emerging risks.
  • Partner with IT Infrastructure, Networking, Application, and Business teams to investigate and resolve security incidents.
  • Participate in incident response activities, tabletop exercises, and security simulations.
  • Leverage threat intelligence, vulnerability information, and security research to improve detection and response capabilities.
  • Help maintain and improve incident response procedures, playbooks, and operational documentation.
  • Monitor emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance cybersecurity operations and organizational resilience.
  • Utilize approved AI-powered tools, including Microsoft Copilot and other emerging technologies, to support research, analysis, documentation, and operational efficiency while adhering to cybersecurity governance standards.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT operations, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles, security operations, and incident response processes.
  • Experience working with security monitoring tools, logging platforms, or SIEM technologies.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking concepts, and common cybersecurity threats.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and respond to security events in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
