ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a Senior Cyber Software Engineer tosupport our Atlantis Program contract at the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) facility in San Diego, CA.
As a Senior Cyber Software Engineer you will support tasks to continue current operations, support the planned growth as determined by life cycle support, maintenance and sustainment, system administration support, upgrade and logistics support of the ATLANTIS system, networked and deployed globally in support of U.S. Sponsors.
Responsibilities may include:
- Software Development, design, develop, test, and maintain high quality software solutions using C/C++. Golang, Python, and Java
- System Design, architect scalable and efficient software systems that meet business and technical requirements, including microservices architecture.
- Linux Experience; utilizing advance Linux skills for software development, system administration, and performing tuning.
- Code Review and Mentorship; conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior engineers to foster continuous improvement.
- Collaboration; work closely with cross functional teams including product management, QA, and operations to deliver high quality products.
- Problem Solving; Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues in a timely manner.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for software systems and processes.
- Innovation; Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply knowledge to improve existing systems and processes,
- Optional: Utilize knowledge of PCoIP to develop and optimize relevant software solutions.
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- Education: 12 years with a BS/BA, 10 years with a MS/MA, 7 years with a PhD or 16 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- 7 years of relevant experience in Software Development.
- Basic experience with system installation/configuration and/or basic programming skills
- Clearance: Secret Clearance and must be able to obtain TS/SCI
- Expertise in cybersecurity engineering, including secure system design, threat modeling, and defensive architecture development.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Multi Level Secure (MLS) systems for C4I environments.
- Proficiency in Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux), including secure operating system configuration, SELinux policy development, troubleshooting, and hardening.
- Handson experience with secure software development practices, secure coding standards, vulnerability identification, and secure configuration management.
- Experience with Subversion (svn) for software version control, branching strategies, repository management, and release control.
- Strong understanding of security compliance frameworks (RMF, NIST, DoD security controls, STIGs) and the ability to support audit readiness and certification efforts.
- Ability to develop and analyze security architectures, perform cybersecurity assessments, and identify mitigation strategies.
- Experience collaborating with crossfunctional engineering teams, participating in technical reviews, and supporting full lifecycle software development.
- Knowledge of network security concepts, access control models, cryptographic principles, and secure system integration.
- Ability to document system designs, security artifacts, and technical justifications clearly and thoroughly.
Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual27s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
