The Opportunity:

The Sr. Logistics & Customs Analyst is responsible for keeping a continuous flow of goods through the Import/Export supply chain. The primarily responsibility of this position is related to the flawless execution of the daily operations through a constant communication with the different logistics suppliers and internal areas. The Sr. Logistics & Customs Analyst is also in charge of Customs-related activities that must be performed with diligence and in adherence to CBP guidelines. Those duties must be executed by keeping a proactive and positive problem-solving approach. This position requires an incumbent that is knowledgeable, self-directed, and can complete work with little direction.

What Your Impact Will Be:
  • Review of Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy.
  • Filing customs entries for Ocean/Land/Air Imports. Monitor timely filings of customs entries according to CBP guidelines.
  • Assess HTS classification and apply the GRIs principles (General Rules of Interpretation). Maintain part master in internal system for new lines of products imported into the U.S.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations.
  • Ensure the proper and timely payment of duties, taxes, or other charges assessed or collected by CBP on merchandise by reason of its importation.
  • Filing PSCs (Post Summary Corrections) & reconciliation entries when required.
  • Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163.
  • Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve customs-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of customs compliance procedures and policies.
  • Provide reporting (departmental, financial, etc.) & data analysis on an ad-hoc level.
  • Consistently strive to innovate & streamline department tasks by collaborating with fellow employees & outside departments.
  • Proactively resolves and escalates any issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by your manager or supervisor.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in the following preferred fields - supply chain, logistics, transportation, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 or more years related experience in customs brokerage operations.
  • CTPAT/ISA experience preferred.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Excellent data analytics, problem-solving, reasoning, and influencing skills.
  • Intermediate or above skills with Microsoft Office Programs including Excel, Access.
  • Ability to develop new tools to help streamline department processes
  • High brainpower, high horsepower and high standard of excellence.
  • Able to flourish in a fast pace, high volume environment.

  • Prior experience with US Ocean freight - both import and export - as well as Air freight operations.
  • Understanding of International Trade Terms (Incoterms).
  • Experience with Export process and documentation is a plus.
