Full Job Description
The job of the Sr Content Manager is to design and deliver compelling content tailored to each executive community we serve. This position develops event agendas across a portfolio of C-level events. The Sr Content Manager conducts research and phone interviews to identify appropriate topics, secures speakers, creates appropriate session formats, and analyzes attendee feedback to measure success. The Sr Content Manager owns a strategic initiative for the organization and mentors and coaches newer team members.

What you will do:
  • Create compelling event agendas for C-level executives
  • Schedule and lead calls with C-level executives and all speakers
  • Creatively write speaker profiles, presentation abstracts, invitations, stage scripts and prepare a variety of digital and print marketing materials in adherence with Associate Press and Evanta, a Gartner Company Style Guide
  • Conduct efficient, independent and creative research on topics impacting Fortune 1000 organizations and C-level executives
  • Negotiate, draft and manage speaker agreements with authors, thought leaders and industry experts
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations and other business units to meet planning deadlines and ensure alignment with event strategy and delivery
  • Evaluate content quality of events to achieve continual improvement
  • Manage content projects, create and deliver departmental training, and provide support to content colleagues as needed
  • Serve as point of contact for select sponsor accounts to determine speaker, topic and format in alignment with C-level priorities
  • Collect, prepare and organize onsite event materials for successful event execution


What you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, journalism, English or related field is preferred
  • 5+ years working in events or content creation
  • Previous events industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Own a strategic initiative for the business that improves the content team function and execution
  • Act as mentor / coach to newer team member and align with 2-3 team members as assigned mentor
  • Enthusiasm, confidence, a strong professional work ethic and strong business acumen
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with internal stakeholders and partners
  • Superior organizational and project management skills, along with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and synthesize information quickly and effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new subject matter quickly
  • Effective interviewing skills
  • Professional business and/or technical writing experience
  • Proven track record managing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Approximately 10% travel to events is required

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 72,000 USD - 100,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. Our talent acquisition team will provide the specific opportunity on our bonus or incentive programs to eligible candidates.
