Senior Content Designer - UX & Information Architecture

Shape the strategy, structure, and experience of content across a complex portfolio of digital products. This opportunity is well suited for a senior-level Content Designer who enjoys solving challenging problems at the intersection of UX, content strategy, information architecture, and product design.

The role focuses on bringing clarity to complex content ecosystems, establishing scalable structures and taxonomies, and using research and data to make informed content decisions. You will also contribute to the growth of the Content Design practice through strategic thinking, collaboration, mentorship, knowledge sharing, and design leadership.

Success in this role requires the ability to think beyond individual words or screens and understand how content, structure, user behavior, and business objectives come together to create effective digital experiences.

What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities
  • Lead content design strategy across multiple digital products and initiatives, ensuring content supports both user needs and business objectives.
  • Define how content is structured, organized, categorized, and presented across products and platforms.
  • Create and maintain information architectures, taxonomies, content models, and supporting documentation.
  • Partner with Product Designers and other UX disciplines to incorporate content into end-to-end product experiences.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative research, analytics, product insights, and industry trends to inform content recommendations.
  • Evaluate complex content ecosystems and identify opportunities to improve how information is organized and experienced.
  • Work closely with Copywriters and other content partners to establish clear, consistent, and purposeful experiences.
  • Help develop content governance practices that support consistency and scalability across products.
  • Identify content design opportunities and translate those opportunities into actionable recommendations.
  • Estimate content design effort and contribute to project planning, budgets, and timelines.
  • Communicate complex content and UX concepts clearly and compellingly to stakeholders at varying levels of the organization.
  • Present recommendations and strategic ideas to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and evolving digital experiences, considering their impact on users, content, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Content Design discipline through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and strategic leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • Significant experience in Content Design, UX Content, Content Strategy, Information Architecture, or a related field.
  • Strong experience designing and structuring content for digital products and experiences.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Information Architecture, taxonomy, categorization, and content organization.
  • Ability to think strategically while also contributing to detailed product and content design work.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and how content influences the overall user experience.
  • Experience partnering with Product Designers, UX teams, Copywriters, Product Managers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data and research to support design decisions.
  • Experience working with complex content systems, repositories, platforms, or organizational processes.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex environments and become a subject matter expert in the systems and processes supporting a product ecosystem.
  • Experience creating wireframes or other artifacts that communicate content and experience concepts.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to make complex ideas easy to understand.
  • Ability to develop compelling recommendations and gain alignment from stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity and adapting to evolving priorities.
