About the Role

Happen Bank’s Compliance Team is looking for an experienced compliance data analytics professional to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining various reports and processes to support the Compliance organization.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct tuning of existing BSA/AML transaction monitoring models/rules and watchlist screening processes; develop new processes as needed
  • Execute on initiatives to streamline operational processes related to ad-hoc reporting and ongoing performance monitoring related to BSA/AML and regulatory compliance
  • Enhance and Develop Community-Reinvestment Act (CRA) reporting to support the strategic plan
  • Provide support for other Compliance related initiatives and activities as needed, including internal and external audits or regulatory exams and strategic projects; Collaborate with partners across Compliance, Technology, Model Risk Management, and Data Engineering to support deliverables
  • Perform ongoing User-Acceptance Testing (UAT) to support new products/channels, ensuring coverage in transaction monitoring, customer risk rating, and screening models as required
  • Use creativity, analytical expertise, and sound judgment to identify and mitigate risk
  • Use AI tools fluently and stay current on new AI use cases, methods and bring them into your work thoughtfully
  • Assist in preparing periodic reporting materials for executive leadership
  • Assist in regulatory exam readiness and internal audit reviews

About You

  • 2-5 years of analytics experience with technical proficiencies in SQL, RStudio, Python, etc.
  • 2+ years of compliance/financial crimes compliance experience in a regulated financial institution with a background in fintech preferred
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC/sanctions requirements, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Housing Act, CRA and other laws and regulations related to fair and responsible banking; CAMS or other AML certification is a plus
  • Experience and inquisitive in the use of AI tools as part of your analytical toolkit — for exploration, pattern recognition, and modeling
  • Effective communicator who can tailor discussions to various audiences; You have the ability to simplify complex analysis for non-technical audiences
  • Passion for driving change with an ability to navigate multiple high and sometimes competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguity
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Location
San Francisco, Lehi, New York

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. Happen Bank offers relocation, based on actual job level.

Local hours (PT, MT, ET)

While the position will primarily work local hours, Happen Bank is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements
As needed travel to Happen Bank offices and/or other locations, as needed.

Compensation
The target base salary range for this position is 81,000-125,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of Happen Bank's Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
