Full Job Description
About the Role

Alumni Ventures is looking for an operationally excellent, investor-experience-oriented professional to join our Relationship Management team as a Senior Community Manager. This role serves as the operational backbone of our investor relationship work - the person who ensures our team of senior Relationship Managers can focus on high-value investor time because the infrastructure behind them is running flawlessly.

You'll start by owning the back-end operations that power our Relationship Management team: CRM management, investor call prep, scheduling coordination, follow-up tracking, process improvements, and more. You'll work directly with our EPs, SVP, and VPs of Relationship Management, and you'll report to the EVP of Investor Relations. Over time, this role may grow into an Associate Relationship Management function, where you'll be expected to develop the expertise and confidence to take investor calls independently and manage investor relationships.

This is a role for someone who cares deeply about the investor experience, sweats the details, and holds themselves to an extremely high standard on operations, process, and follow-through. If you've done high-volume investor or client-facing work in financial services and you're looking for a place to grow, this may be the role for you.
What You'll Do

RM Team Operations & Infrastructure
  • Own the operational infrastructure that supports the Relationship Management (RM) team day-to-day: email support, call scheduling, Calendly management, follow-up coordination and tracking, and portfolio research.
  • Maintain clean, complete, and up-to-date investor records in the CRM - including activity logs, contact information, relationship notes, and interaction history.
  • Prepare investor call materials and portfolio summaries for RMs ahead of investor interactions.
  • Ensure nothing falls through the cracks across a team managing hundreds of active investor relationships.

Investor Experience & Follow-Up
  • Serve as a first point of contact for investor inquiries that do not require senior RM involvement, handling with professionalism and care.
  • Manage post-call follow-up tasks: documentation, routing investor requests, and tracking resolution.
  • Proactively identify investors who may need attention or outreach and surface to the relevant RM.
  • Hold yourself to the same standard on investor experience as the RMs you support - every interaction, written or verbal, reflects the team and the Company.

Process, Systems & Reporting
  • Own and continuously improve RM workflows, playbooks, and process documentation.
  • Track team activity and KPIs; support reporting for the EVP and senior leadership.
  • Identify inefficiencies in the investor experience or RM operations and bring solutions, not just problems.
  • Lead your own adoption of AI tools to make your work faster, sharper, and higher quality - and contribute to the team's AI capability over time.

Investor-Facing Responsibilities (Growing Over Time)
  • Participate in investor calls with RMs as you build knowledge and confidence.
  • Develop toward independent investor calls.
  • Contribute to investor education and engagement conversations as your expertise grows.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in a high-volume, investor- or client-facing role in financial services - ideally with experience in wealth management, private banking, fund operations, or a related field.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; you are the person who catches what others miss.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; you can represent the team well in writing and on the phone.
  • Experience managing CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) with discipline and accuracy.
  • Process-oriented mindset - you build systems, document what works, and improve what doesn't.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously without sacrificing quality or follow-through.
  • Genuine interest in venture capital, investing, and the investor experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in financial services with direct exposure to high-volume investor or client communication.
  • Prior FINRA licensure (Series 7, 63, or 66) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting senior-level professionals in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
  • Familiarity with investor onboarding, relationship management workflows, or fund operations.
  • Track record of stepping into more responsibility over time - you have a history of growing in your roles.

What Success Looks Like
  • The RM team has more capacity for high-value investor time because operations are running smoothly behind them.
  • CRM data is clean, complete, and useful - the team can trust it.
  • Investors receive timely, high-quality follow-up and nothing falls through the cracks.
  • EVP Investor Relations and the RM team trust you to run the back end without close oversight.
  • You demonstrate initiative and build toward taking investor calls independently.
