Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Sr Communications Specialistto join our Brand and Communications team supporting internal and external communications for the Process Automation business. Working closely with communications leadership, business leaders, functional partners, and communications Centers of Excellence, this role will help translate business priorities into clear, compelling, and audience-focused communications that build awareness, deepen understanding, strengthen engagement, and inspire action.

This position will contribute to building a seamless narrative across employee communications, executive communications, media relations, digital and social channels, events, and multimedia storytelling. The ideal candidate will combine strong writing and storytelling skills with business acumen, sound judgment, curiosity, and disciplined project management.

The position will report to a Sr Director of Communications, and would work out of our Houston, TX location, on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Content Creation:
  • Develop and produce high-quality content for various channels, including internal articles, press releases, social media posts and byline articles.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice across all communications.


Internal and External Communications Channels:
  • Support internal communication initiatives by creating informative and engaging content for employees.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to promote organizational changes and achievements.
  • Assist in media relations activities as requested.
  • Coordinate media inquiries and prepare materials for media outreach.


Social Media Management:
  • Support social media presence by developing engaging content and monitoring online interactions.
  • Analyze social media metrics to optimize performance and engagement.


Operational and Event Support:
  • Assist in the execution of communications for events, including town halls, product launches, trade shows, and community engagement activities.
  • Manage editorial calendar and results tracker.


Research and Analysis:
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in communications and public relations.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 5 or more years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, marketing communications, or a related field
  • 5 or more years of experience supporting internal communications, external communications, executive communications, media relations, social media, or a combination of these disciplines
  • 5 or more years of demonstrated experience writing and editing content for multiple audiences and channels


WE VALUE
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office and relevant digital communications, collaboration, analytics, and content-management tools
  • Experience working in a large, complex, matrixed, or global organization
  • Experience in the technology or manufacturing industry is highly desirable
  • Strong AP style writing and editing capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to turn complex information into clear, concise, and engaging communications.
  • Experience supporting change communications, organizational transformation, or major business initiatives.
  • Experience preparing communications for senior executives.
  • Familiarity with media relations, executive social media, employee engagement platforms, and multimedia storytelling.
  • Experience using communications analytics to evaluate performance and improve outcomes.
  • Familiarity with responsible use of generative AI in communications workflows.
  • Experience coordinating agencies, vendors, events, or cross-functional project teams.
