WHAT YOU'LL DOAs a Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist you are responsible for reviewing, revising, and maintaining contractual agreements used in the sales and services, as well as drafting and negotiation of commercial contract terms related to orders, pricing, invoicing, renewals, and payment. The Senior Commercial Contracts Specialist will also work to develop and implement contracting process improvements and serve as a mentor for other team members.
WHERE YOU'LL WORKThis position will work a hybrid schedule from our Leawood, KS office location preferred. Remote will be considered within the United States.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME- Contract Management: Efficiently manage the contract lifecycle process from drafting to execution, including reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing commercial contracts.
- Contract Development and Negotiation: Drafting, evaluating, and negotiating contracts with customers, suppliers, and partners. This includes understanding the business case and reflecting it accurately in contract terms and conditions.
- Redline / Commercial Terms Management: Analyze and respond to redlined documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and objectives while protecting company interests.
- Contracts Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities and developing solutions to improve contract throughput and implementing best practices.
- Team Training: Providing training and guidance to junior staff or other departments on contract management best practices and procedures.
- CLM Oversight: Assist with implementation and maintenance of a robust Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system to streamline processes, track contract milestones / renewal dates, and ensure compliance with deadlines and obligations.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with various stakeholders, including sales, finance, legal, and operations teams, to ensure that contracts meet the needs of all parties involved.
- Strategic Planning: Assisting in the development of strategic plans related to contracting and procurement.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related field is required.
- Must have 5+ years of experience in contract administration and management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of contract law, negotiation principles, and contract drafting.
- Experience using customer relationship management tools such as (Salesforce or Dynamics 365) and contract lifecycle management systems preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with acute awareness of sales process and impact on top-line billings.
HIRING RANGEThe current full-time, annualized base pay hiring range for this role is $78,700.00-$112,530.00. In accordance with applicable state laws, we are providing the expected pay range for this position. Individual compensation will be determined by various factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, current business needs and local market factors. Most regular, full-time employees are eligible to participate in an Ascend incentive bonus or sales plan.
