Full Job Description
Sr. Cloud Architect will be responsible to create and execute cloud infrastructure strategies by designing and assisting with development of developing cloud services and assets to meet business objectives. Works closely with Product Management, Development, QA, DevOps, and Engineering teams for migrating, building and deploying applications. Provides Architecture Review for designs that impact the corporate cloud infrastructure. Provides guidance, standards, architectural patterns for the development solution and systems architects for "starter" reference architectures for particular "Use Cases". Responsible for ensuring platform consistency is met through automation and adherence to defined standards. Participates in planning, implementation, and growth of the platform. Become a subject matter expert in two or more cloud sub-systems such as security, monitoring, application programming interface (API) gateway, networking, or database.

What you will do:
  1. Architectural Expertise: Gain an in-depth understanding of application functionality and the technical operational processes needed to support the platform. Acquire knowledge on the interaction of all the systems & sub-systems, how data flows, where failures are logged, and how systems can be improved. Develop scripts and establish infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure processes are repeatable and consistent across Dev, QA, UAT and Production environments.
  2. Cloud Platform: Deep understanding of the corporation's Cloud Vendor's offerings and the architectural ('ilities') trade-offs associated with each. Extensive knowledge in cloud infrastructure and can assist other Engineering teams (e.g. Security, Networking, Data, PSG) with monitoring and break fix incidents.
  3. Stewardship: Participate in Architectural Reviews to validate designs and ensure that organizational standards are followed. Periodically audit the cloud environments to find areas for improvement.

The ideal candidate:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:
  • A minimum of seven years' technical experience working with cloud architecture, preferably Azure or AWS
  • Expert knowledge of cloud components and services (Storage, Configuration, Compute platforms, Containers, Azure AD, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge working in scripting languages such as JSON and YAML & management tools such as PowerShell, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Terraform (IaC), Ansible
  • Understanding of relational databases (Microsoft SQL) and non-relational databases (CosmosDB)

Specialized Skills:
  • Problem Solving\Troubleshooting
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and know when to apply them
  • Can work effectively within a team environment and resolve conflict
  • Strong oral, written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to work in fast paced / rapidly evolving environment.

The starting salary range for this full-time position is $147900 - $184900 per year. This base pay will take into consideration internal equity, candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge and experience among other factors. Origence maintains a highly competitive compensation program. Under company guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual bonus to provide an incentive to achieve targeted goals. Bonuses are awarded at company's discretion on an individual basis.
