Sr. BuyerWe are currently looking for a Sr. Buyer. This person will be responsible for the procurement activities of the business unit, procuring the right products and materials, at the right cost, in the right quantities, at the right quality, at the right timing, driving industry leading internal and external customer service levels and inventory optimization.
What You Will Do:- Analyze purchase requisitions for accuracy and place purchase orders to meet the requirements at competitive costs, quality and lead-times.
- Accountable for inventory days on hand for the business unit.
- Ensure aligned inventory strategies are incorporated into updated supply plans.
- Proactively communicate potential supply issues with the material supply, while leading and coordinating issue resolution.
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve procurement, planning and operations efficiencies, aid in business performance enhancement, and work towards continuous improvement. Initiate Kaizens as required.
- Identify and manage excess and obsolete product with continuous improvement approach to minimize future causes.
- Solve process any Accounts Payable and Receiving Issues in a timely manner.
What You Will Bring:- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or other relevant fields preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain management, materials planning, or related fields.
- Advanced level Excel skills which include experience in creating Excel/Database files is required with SQL query building experience preferred.
- Experience with MRP or supply planning software such as SAP or JDE.
- Experience in a Job-Shop manufacturing environment preferred.
Within 3 Months You Will:- Complete your Atkore immersion program.
- Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
- Begin procurement and planning activities and responsibilities.
- Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures you own.
Within 6-months You Will:- Provide and align on requirements for procurement and materials planning with plant leadership.
- Identify and analyze key performance indicators and share insights around how we may improve the health of our supply chain.
- Begin to drive SIOP and supply chain processes through direct interaction with internal and external stakeholders such as the Customer, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, and Suppliers.
- Start teaching, influencing and sharing your supply chain management expertise with colleagues across the team, fostering continuous improvement.
- Create standard work documents for procedures and processes.
Within 12-months You Will:- Lead internal supply and demand balancing meetings, helping to make decisions to drive the overall customer experience.
- Significantly reduced materials costs and lead-times.
- Create and update reports, training materials and documentation.
- Enable faster turnaround of product by managing large projects and building strong cost-reducing business relations with suppliers.
As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $84,960 - $116,820. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
