THE OPPORTUNITYThis is a true end-to-end buying seat: you own supplier selection, negotiation, purchase orders, and the inventory levels that keep the production floor running. You'll sit at the intersection of production, engineering, quality, and finance, which means real visibility and real influence over cost. WHAT YOU'LL OWN- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers against quality, cost, and delivery requirements
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to drive measurable cost savings and value improvement
- Issue purchase orders and manage order confirmations through delivery
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery, and pricing issues directly
- Maintain optimal inventory levels aligned to the production schedule - no line-down surprises, no dead stock
- Partner cross-functionally with production, engineering, quality, and finance
- Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities and alternate suppliers
- Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects
- Apply AI and modern tooling to streamline purchasing workflows and improve execution
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable industry regulations
WHAT YOU BRING- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field - or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of production planning experience
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Working knowledge of AI tools and how to apply them to improve day-to-day work and execution
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
