Senior Business Analyst

Job Profile Summary

Under general direction, formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications. Guides and advises less-experienced Business Systems Analysts. Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.

 

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for work flow engineering to include business process flow, organizational structure, design and capabilities. Results of engineering are utilized to enhance systems, identify staffing models etc.
  • Responsible for application support of financial systems including A/P, Gl, financial reporting, fixed assets and other related applications.
  • Utilize various data tools to analyze data and/or troubleshoot data issues.
  • Re-engineer business processes in all financial departments.
  • Understand business-processing requirements and have the ability to be a key team member in providing solutions.
  • Responsible for having direct interaction with end-users and having the ability to understand their description of a problem as well as the ability to effectively communicate a solution.
  • Develop documentation and end user training.
  • Function as a liaison to the training and implementation team.Involved in monitoring and analyzing system performance issues.
  • Interpret an application and how it meets standard accounting practices.
  • Responsible for being a key part of the internal support structure of new financial applications.
  • Function as a key project team member in the determination, evaluation, implementation and support of financial system initiatives.
  • Requires extensive problem solving skills and the development of creative solutions to business needs
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Report all suspicious requests, incidents, and situations.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:Part of the critical responsibility of the Business Analyst is to successfully interact with various other individuals including, but not limited to: Project Manager, Functional Business Users, Functional Department users, Department Heads, Database Administrators, Technical Systems Administrator and the Training and Implementation team.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience preferred. Familiar with a variety of field concepts practices and procedures.
  •  Detailed knowledge of business systems and problem solving. Applicant is expected to have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and policies within the information services field.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Salary Range $95K-$100K Range
