Job Overview:
Responsible for supporting Canadian tax compliance, tax accounting, and cross-border tax reporting activities for Mercedes-Benz North America Corporation and its affiliated Canadian entities. Assists with the preparation of income tax provisions in accordance with IAS 12, tax compliance filings, audit support, and international tax reporting requirements. Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, compliance, and documentation
Responsibilities:
- Canadian Corporate Income Tax Compliance (45%)
Prepare Canadian corporate income tax returns, related tax elections, supporting schedules, tax payments, refund claims, and tax account reconciliations. Coordinate information gathering, maintain compliance calendars, and monitor filing requirements for Canadian entities. - Canadian Tax Accounting & Provisions (30%)
Prepare quarterly and annual Canadian income tax provisions in accordance with IFRS and IAS 12. Calculate current and deferred taxes, prepare effective tax rate analyses, support financial statement disclosures, and complete provision-to-return reconciliations. - Canadian Tax Accounting & Provisions (10%)
Prepare quarterly and annual Canadian income tax provisions in accordance with IFRS and IAS 12. Calculate current and deferred taxes, prepare effective tax rate analyses, support financial statement disclosures, and complete provision-to-return reconciliations. - International Tax Reporting & Withholding Taxes (5%)
Support U.S. and Canadian withholding tax compliance processes, maintain FATCA and CRS documentation, review Forms W-8 records, and assist with reporting obligations related to cross-border payments. - U.S. International Tax Compliance (5%)
Support U.S. international tax reporting activities, including protective filings, Tax Residency Certificate requests, FBAR filings, and related compliance requirements. - Tax Research & Business Support (5%)
Research Canadian and U.S. tax matters, prepare supporting analyses and draft memoranda, monitor legislative developments, and provide technical support for compliance, audits, and special projects.

Qualifikationen Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application, however visa sponsorship will be considered. Relocation assistance will be considered
This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes:
- Must have 5+ years of work experience with a Big 4 or regional accounting firm and/or corporate tax department.
- Must have knowledge of accounting for income taxes and corporate tax compliance.
- Experience in a management role preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited school) with emphasis in Accounting or Finance required
- MS in Taxation or Business or LLM in Tax preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
Additional Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of U.S. federal income tax concepts and tax compliance processes.
- Basic understanding of accounting for income taxes, including exposure to ASC 740, IAS 12, or similar tax accounting frameworks preferred.
- Ability to analyze financial statement data, accounting transactions, and supporting tax documentation.
- Ability to research tax and tax accounting issues and effectively communicate conclusions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, external advisors, and business stakeholders.
