Job Overview

The Sr Associate Design Engineer will be responsible for application assessment, design and documentation of high-quality custom communication systems and products to meet customer specifications. The Sr Associate Design Engineer will develop into a subject-matter expert in all GAI-Tronics products and systems.

A Day In The Life

Roles and Responsibilities include:
  • Perform engineering needed to support sales in proposing custom equipment and systems.
  • Evaluate customer specifications and determine the appropriate solutions.
  • Determine feasibility of custom product requirements and equipment integration.
  • Provide preliminary engineering design to determine form, fit, and function of product.
  • Provide technical write-up of system solutions and system architectures, based on GAI-Tronics product offerings.
  • Generate a written bill of material to provide accurate parts lists for custom products to be built.
  • Provide accurate diagrams of products and systems.
  • Assist other engineers with problems encountered, reducing project completion time.
  • Answer customer inquiries (via collaboration applications, email, or telephone) on custom products and systems.
  • Provide accurate technical documentation to customers as necessary.
  • Provide technical support to internal customers via the department Help Line tool.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Perform acoustic surveys at customer sites using sound meters and drawingsand develop accurate speaker layouts from the survey results.
  • Take part in customer training as required.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with audio systems is strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
  • Previous experience with SAP and AutoCAD strongly preferred.
