The Opportunity:
The Sr Associate, Consumer Products will support the growth of Mattel's Consumer Products business across UCANZ by managing an assigned portfolio of licensees and executing licensing plans. Working closely with internal and external partners, this role contributes to commercial growth by managing licensee relationships, supporting the end-to-end licensing lifecycle, and ensuring licensed products are delivered in line with Mattel's brand standards and business objectives.

The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned Apparel licensee partnerships, identifying commercial opportunities, coordinating product development and retail execution, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver successful licensed consumer products.

What Your Impact Will Be:

Business & Licensing Execution
  • Execute licensing plans across an assigned portfolio of licensees within UCANZ.
  • Identify commercial opportunities, emerging consumer trends and whitespace opportunities, providing recommendations to the Manager.
  • Support the identification, evaluation and onboarding of new licensing partners.
  • Contribute to the end-to-end licensing lifecycle including opportunity identification, business case development, negotiations, product development, launch and ongoing partner management.
  • Coordinate product development activities to ensure products meet Mattel brand standards, consumer needs and commercial objectives.
  • Assist with contract administration and licensing documentation.
  • Monitor business performance, royalty forecasts and commercial opportunities, providing regular reporting and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and support quarterly forecasting cycles.
  • Research, identify, and pitch new category opportunities and prospective licensees. Prepare brand pitch and marketing presentations for external potential and existing licensees.

Licensee Account Management
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with an assigned portfolio of licensees, acting as the primary business contact. Maintain regular communication with key partners to understand performance, trend, competitive landscape, white space opportunities, and resolve any issues.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to understand business performance against forecasts, commercial objectives and royalty expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships and drive incremental growth.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new licensees.
  • Monitor sales performance and provide updated forecasts as part of quarterly business reviews.
  • Prepare regular updates on business performance, opportunities and commercial risks.
  • Manage production samples process and storage in office, coordinate sample needs with licensees and cross-functional partners (trade shows, product displays, etc.)


Retail & Product Development
  • Partner with licensees to develop retail programs that support Mattel's brand and retail strategies.
  • Work with Sales, Marketing and Franchise teams to identify product opportunities and support commercial execution.
  • Coordinate product development and creative approval processes to maintain brand integrity.
  • Support retailer engagement alongside Consumer Products leadership where appropriate.


Marketing Plans
  • Partner closely with Brand Marketing, Sales, Franchise, Consumer Insights, Finance, Legal and Product Design teams to deliver integrated licensing plans.


Qualifications

What We're Looking For:
  • Marketing/Business degree or other relevant tertiary qualification.
  • 3+ years' experience in consumer products, licensing, Apparel , retail or another relevant commercial environment.
  • Experience managing relationships with external partners, licensees or key commercial customers.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end licensing lifecycle, including partner management, product development and commercial execution.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyseanalyze sales, royalty and market data to identify business opportunities.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Legal and Product Development teams.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organisationalorganizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience within the consumer products, entertainment or licensing industry is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the UCANZ retail environment is desirable.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to pivot on tasks as needed.
  • Demonstrate awareness of current market trends and an interest in consumer products.

The pay range for this position is between $92,000 and $115,000 annually. The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
