Position Overview

The Role

The Sr. Applications Engineer will support our CMP applications development group. They will work closely with and take direction from the CMP applications management team.

With their knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing process and instrumentation, the Sr. Applications Engineer will collaborate with various functional departments/teams in support of cutting-edge CMP technology development.

Job Description

Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Takes direction from CMP laboratory management team in support of existing and new instruments
  • Creates recipes and new methodology development on CMP metrology instruments
  • Make continuous improvements to enhance the performance of instruments
  • Coordinates with application and formulation team to ensure tasks and projects are completed to target and on schedule
  • Defines and maintains equipment KPI for quality, uptime and costs
  • Takes full ownership and becomes technical expert for the respective instrument specialization
  • Maintains SPC charts for lab equipment
  • Documents SOP, BKM, PM of CMP instrumentation
  • Manages service contract by working with vendors and purchase team
  • Facilitates training for other technicians/engineers for the new tools and new methodology
  • Seeks to streamline and automate instrument data analysis and reporting
  • Supports instrument evaluation/demo for new tools per CMP business needs

REQUIREMENTS
  • A BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Chemistry and 6 plus years of experience Is required. An MS degree and 3 plus years of experience or a PhD with 0 to 2 years of experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision to achieve goals in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Track record of problem solving and technical creativity
  • Knowledge of defect analysis, statistical analyses and ability to understand and interpret data, experience with Klarity software is a plus
  • Must have experience with Power Point, Excel or other software tools to generate concise presentations.
  • Must have demonstrated communication skills and proven team player.
  • Proven self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Proven experience working in a diverse and inclusive work environment.
