Full Job Description
As a Sr. Application Delivery Engineer I, you'll deliver secure, highly available application delivery and load-balancing services across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. You'll engineer and optimize F5 BIG-IP solutions, manage traffic and SSL/TLS services, automate configurations, resolve complex performance and availability issues, and maintain compliance with federal security standards.

What you'll do:
  • Configure and troubleshoot virtual servers, pools, health monitors, traffic policies, profiles, iRules, and SSL/TLS services.
  • Monitor performance and use advanced analytics to resolve latency, capacity, availability, and network configuration issues.
  • Engineer and optimize F5 services across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Maintain high-availability and failover configurations supporting mission-critical applications.
  • Integrate F5 services with DNS, security platforms, applications, certificate services, and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Automate configuration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance using REST APIs, Ansible, Terraform, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, configurations, runbooks, workflows, change records, and operational procedures.
  • Communicate system status, technical risks, and recommended solutions to Government stakeholders and engineering teams.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Active Top Secret clearance preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of relevant enterprise network, systems, site reliability, or application delivery engineering experience in mission-critical environments.
  • Extensive direct hands-on experience administering and engineering F5 BIG-IP application delivery and load-balancing services, including system health, capacity, availability, and reliability.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting virtual servers, pools, health monitors, profiles, traffic policies, SSL/TLS services, high availability, and failover; iRules or equivalent traffic-management logic is strongly expected.
  • Experience monitoring performance and using advanced tools and analytics to isolate and resolve application delivery, network configuration, latency, capacity, and availability issues.
  • Experience evaluating, engineering, and recommending load-balancing, network optimization, and application acceleration techniques across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
  • Experience integrating F5 services with DNS, network security, applications, identity/certificate services, infrastructure platforms, and enterprise monitoring solutions.
  • Experience automating configuration management, monitoring, deployment, and maintenance using REST APIs, Ansible, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, or comparable tools.
  • Experience developing and maintaining accurate architecture diagrams, configurations, runbooks, workflows, change records, troubleshooting documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
  • Must satisfy the applicable DoD 8140 qualification requirements for the 451 System Administrator work role; no additional technical certification is required.

SALARY RANGE: $140,000 - $225,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
