About the Role & Team

The Corporate Treasury group of The Walt Disney Company is responsible for managing financial risk and ensuring adequate liquidity for the Company. Treasury oversees bank relationships, foreign exchange (FX) and interest rate hedging programs, financial risk management, financing and capital raising activities, cash management, enterprise consumer payments and directs the investment of retirement assets. For FX specifically, the Financial Markets team within Treasury is responsible for managing the Company's global foreign currency and commodities exposures and related hedging strategies, to mitigate risk and volatility in the Company's earnings. Additionally, the team manages international liquidity, repatriation efforts and financing needs for the Company's international subsidiaries.

The Sr. Analyst, Financial Markets - Treasury position is an important role assisting with Disney's foreign currency risk and hedging programs. This role combines financial market exposure, derivatives execution and skills in partnering with other stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and business segments. Day to day, the work will be a mix of short-term responsibilities (such as maintaining the operational details of our hedging programs and working with and providing business units with updates on the FX impact on their P&L), as well as longer-term projects, such as the budget rates and economic assumptions set annually and used by the business units for forecasting. There is close coordination with internal partners, such as the Corporate and Segment FP&A teams, particularly around impacts to their forecasts from FX. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving and analytical skills, a willingness to learn new concepts (particularly around derivatives and hedging programs), and an interest in global financial markets. Over time, there will be opportunities to collaborate on other projects within the Financial Markets team (such as Capital Markets and Pension/Investments).

What You Will Do

  • Maintain reports and analysis used to monitor foreign exchange exposures and positions across our systems and work to enhance the reporting over time using technology (including Power Query, Power Automate and Tableau)
  • Day-to-day oversight of key operational aspects of hedging programs, for example, to ensure derivatives are designated on a timely basis within our Treasury Management System
  • Partner with business units (including FP&A and Accounting teams) to aggregate the Company's FX exposures and estimate the impact of FX on each business's P&L forecast
  • Assist in reconciling derivative positions against external disclosures at quarter end and with other month and quarter end deliverables, including preparing the presentation for the Financial Risk Management Committee
  • Conducting macroeconomic research to assist the businesses with long-term assumptions around FX rates and economic growth
  • Supporting the research and FX strategy behind key business initiatives, such as changes to Disney+ Annual subscriptions in international markets or hedging the FX exposure on the cruise ships currently under construction


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a finance role, such as treasury, financial risk
  • management, FP&A, or capital markets
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking and problem-solving skills and independently lead key
  • workstreams, particularly with an analytical and data-driven approach
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and take on significant responsibility
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, California is $126,800.00 to $154,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
