Full Job Description
As a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the entire maintenance division, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. You will provide leadership and direction to maintenance managers and teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and manage significant budgets and resources. This role demands a high level of strategic planning, leadership, and technical expertise.

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced aviation maintenance leader who blends deep technical expertise with strategic, operational, and customer facing capabilities. Beyond ensuring aircraft airworthiness, this individual integrates maintenance activities with engineering, mission systems, operations, logistics, business strategy, and long term fleet sustainment. They operate effectively across multiple disciplines, balancing regulatory compliance, aircraft availability, customer priorities, and overarching program objectives-particularly in environments involving airline/charter (Part 135), ISR, and special mission aircraft.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the maintenance division, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive maintenance strategies and plans.
  • Ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across all maintenance activities.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, budget, and equipment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes, procedures, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to address technical and operational issues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance managers and team members.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of maintenance personnel.
  • Report on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to senior management and executive leadership.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 11+ years of aviation experience, with at least 4+ years in a leadership role.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 15 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements [e.g., FAA, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)].
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • Deep understanding of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in aviation safety standards, safe operating practices, aircraft maintenance and inspection processes and procedures and/or returning planes to service.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, the ability to present data to leadership in an effective manner and conflict resolution skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with standing up and managing aircraft operations in overseas locations.
  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation.


Core Technical Competencies
  • Strong Part 145 Repair Station leadership experience
  • Extensive knowledge of CFR Title 14, Part 91, Part 23/25
  • Experience with DCMA 8210.1C/1D
  • Commercial derivative military aircraft operations
  • MEL/CDL/NEF development
  • Maintenance information system (MIS) and configuration management proficiency
  • Engineering change management, mission systems integration, highly modified aircraft, STC development/sustainment, FAA & military certification processes
  • Familiarity with structural/electrical modifications, avionics-to-mission-systems integration, ODAs, secure comms/networking requirements, and systems engineering
  • OEM coordination including Data License Agreements

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $124,771.42 - $171,560.71. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
