Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a skilled Senior Advanced Embedded Engineer to join our Lighting Center of Excellence within the Control Systems group. This role is focused on designing and developing advanced embedded systems for aerospace lighting solutions. The position requires a deep technical expertise in embedded software development, along with the ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary projects in a dynamic industry setting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Embedded Systems Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of embedded software using C, with a focus on bare metal embedded systems as well as real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as embedded Linux, TIRTOS, FreeRTOS.
- Implement control algorithms for BLDC motor systems and develop Ethernet communication protocols.

2. Code Review and Reverse Engineering:
- Analyze and reverse engineer existing embedded C code to enhance and optimize current systems.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on high-level software requirements to ensure robustness and functionality.

3. Testing and Integration:
- Develop and execute comprehensive engineering tests for system integration in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Work onsite in Urbana for extended periods to support testing and integration activities.

4. Camera and Network Systems:
- Design interface solutions for multiple camera protocols such as SDI, USB, CSI2, and integrate them into existing systems.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Extensive experience in embedded using C/C++ in a real-time operating system.
- Experience in Ethernet development and camera interface protocols.
- Proficiency in Python
- Tools and Technologies:
- Experience with GIT, Bitbucket, JIRA, and DOORs for project management and version control.
- Matlab/Simulink for simulation and modeling, and OpenCV for embedded platform image processing.

- Basic knowledge in Radar software development and mmWave Radar technologies.

WE VALUE:
- Web page development skills for interface and control panels.
- Experience with Eclipse-based IDEs and the ability to mentor team members on best practices and advanced techniques.

- Strong experience with various IDEs, notably Code Composer Studio.
