Job Description

The Sr. Advanced Technical Services Specialist position for CDU/VDU, Hydroprocessing & Renewable Technologies provides technical support for a range of UOP technologies such as Hydrotreating, Hydrocracking, Ecofining and UOP Heavy Oil technologies including Crude and Vacuum Distillation. The primary accountability of the position is to complete the transfer of our CDU/VDU or hydroprocessing technology in order to deliver to our customers' UOP-licensed or UOP-designed units / units loaded with UOP catalyst that operate optimally, profitably and safely. To do so, the Specialist will have regular interaction with external customers, and with other UOP personnel involved in technology delivery projects. In addition to customer contact, the position provides interaction with all the UOP departments involved with technology delivery. The interaction with other UOP departments provides excellent exposure as well as providing knowledge of accountabilities in other areas.

You will report directly to our Sr Chemical Engineering Manager and you'll work out of either our Houston, TX or Des Plaines, IL location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in R&D technology improvement projects. -Champion changes & improvements in technologies supported via innovation [MOIs].
• Serve as the focal point for office-based support of new unit, revamped unit startups from pre-commissioning through guarantee acceptance.
• Serve as the focal point for office-based support of units being loaded with UOP catalyst from catalyst loading through guarantee acceptance.
• Participate in customer meetings
• Participate in Engineering review meetings for new units and revamps including Design Basis, PFD, P&ID, MFD, Plot Plans, HAZOP, Model Reviews, and others.
• Review, analyze and provide feedback on commercial unit operating data and other commercial information/experience.
• Provide both office-based and on-site troubleshooting assistance to commercial units.
• Conduct on-site commercial unit audits.
• Prepare and update general operating manuals, process technology manuals, and training materials and present UOP technology training courses both in the US and abroad.
• As opportunities arise, author MOIs for processes within your area of responsibility.
• Become Six Sigma Green Belt certified and apply tools and techniques to improvement projects.
• Help prepare material for and participate in, Technical Symposiums and Sales Meetings.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelors in Chemical Engineering
• 5+ years industry experience in gas processing, gas treating or hydrogen technologies.

• Additional experience with at least one of the following UOP technologies (Hydrotreating, Hydrocracking, Ecofining, heavy oil technologies).
• Demonstrates communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Good presentation skills
• Proficient with MS Office
• Ability to work independently and handle a multitude of tasks concurrently
• Basic knowledge of one or more of the technologies listed above including their equipment and operations
• Works well in a team environment
• Can communicate well with customers (internal and external)
• Knowledgeable of UOP Unicracking / Unionfining / Ecofining / Heavy oil and other UOP Hydroprocessing & Renewables technologies
• Field Experience is a plus

COMPENSATION

The annual base salary range for this position is $119,000 - $149,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
