WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
- Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Franchise Operations, FP&A, Marketing, Treasury, Tax, and Internal Audit to support business initiatives, strengthen internal controls, and drive continuous process improvements.
- This position is also responsible for developing a high-performing accounting team and fostering a culture of operational excellence. Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Senior Director, Corporate Controller.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for shop, franchise, and supply chain accounting.
- Oversee the preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies.
- Review financial results, analyze significant variances, and communicate key business drivers to leadership.
- Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements related to assigned accounting areas.
- Provide strategic oversight of accounting for company-owned shops, including revenue, store operating expenses, labor-related accruals, lease and occupancy accounting, and other store-level accounting transactions.
- Lead franchise accounting activities, including royalty revenue, franchise fees, advertising/brand fund accounting, franchise receivables, and compliance with franchise agreements.
- Oversee supply chain accounting, including inventory, manufacturing, distribution, inventory reserves, and cost accounting activities.
- Support broader accounting teams for new shop openings, remodels, store closures, acquisitions, and franchise development activities.
- Own SOX controls and governance activities related to shop, franchise, and supply chain accounting.
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA required.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or public company experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and equity method accounting.
- Experience leading technical accounting analyses and working with external auditors.
- Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and project management skills.
