WHAT YOU'LL DO

Viant is looking for a Sr. Accountant. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at a leading and growing digital advertising technology company operating in a fast-paced industry. This role would be heavily involved in certain aspects of the financial close improvement process involving large data sets. This role will support Accounting Management with certain aspects of the financial close process and collaborate daily with other general ledger team members to strategize and tackle the coordination of the monthly financial close, internal and external audit requests, process improvement projects, and other various internal reporting and ad hoc requests as needed.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
  • Accountable for certain aspects of the monthly financial close process and corresponding deadlines
  • Prepare and perform financial statement flux analysis for assigned areas
  • Coordinate and collaborate efficiently with other general ledger staff, finance, and other accounting personnel
  • Leverage and research accounting pronouncements, as directed
  • Prepare support for external auditors
  • Preparation of journal entries for accounting matters that require a senior accountant level skillset
  • Prepare accurate and quality balance sheet reconciliations monthly
  • Works closely with the Accounting Managers to maintain appropriate internal controls over certain aspects of accounting transaction processing and reporting, as directed
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, and IT teams on ERP system integrations, process improvements, and data integrity initiatives
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions and Power Query to manipulate and analyze large datasets efficiently
  • Work cross-functionally with other teams such as operations to streamline accounting processes, as directed
  • Assist with special projects, as needed
GREAT TO HAVE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years relevant Accounting experience
  • CPA preferred (In process or Active)
  • Solid knowledge of accounting and GAAP
  • Big 4/regional firm audit/assurance experience preferred or a mix of public and private experience
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., XLOOKUP, Power Query or PowerPivots)
  • Prior involvement in ERP implementation (NetSuite preferred), optimization, or system conversion projects preferred
  • Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations
  • Strong attention to detail and high-level of accuracy
  • Able to handle extremely sensitive information requiring the utmost discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent IT skills

Base compensation range: $95,000 - $105,000

In accordance with California law, the range provided is Viant's reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. Final title and compensation for the position will be based on several factors including work experience and education.
