ResponsibilitiesHowmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Senior Accountant to perform a variety of accounting and compliance activities. Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will prepare, review and analyze financial and compliance data and documentation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Howmet policies. The Senior Account will assist in conducting accounting transactions, analysis, and planning activities. This position maintains accounting systems to ensure that proper recording, analysis, reconciliation, and maintenance of accurate financial data consistently occurs. The Senior accountant will also work closely with other departments in supporting daily activities related to finance and compliance standards. This position is an on-site position, reporting to the site Controller in Kingston, NY.
Specific Duties:- Prepare and complete timely journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements;
- Contribute to monthly and year-end closing processes by preparing workpapers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation;
- Analyzes and review product margin trends and identify variances;
- Prepares financial reports in accordance with company deadlines as required by management and ensures that all necessary supporting documentation and other required information is maintained. Prepares daily, weekly and monthly standards and special reports and assists the Controller in analyzing the data to report status of the operation;
- Processes internal compliance testing and verify compliance standards are followed throughout the site;
- Collects, processes and manages payroll processing for hourly and salary employees;
- Performs periodic audits of cycle counts, WIP inventory, fixed assets and other areas as requested;
- Assures and maintains adherence to accounting policies and procedures and identifies areas where procedures could be improved. Maintains confidentiality on all data and information;
- The Senior Accountant will work closely with Finance leadership on special projects, financial reporting initiatives, process improvements, and other organizational priorities;
- Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with Company Standards of Business Conduct;
- Ensures that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards;
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- The annual salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.
QualificationsBasic Skill Requirements:Education:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in accounting in a manufacturing company
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and Lookup Functions
- Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and effective communication among team members
