Full Job Description
Position Summary

Guggenheim is seeking an exceptional SPV Accountant to join its Alternative Investments Accounting Team. This person will also be responsible for overseeing institutional investment accounting and related insurance accounting metric delivery. Primarily responsible for completing the month end financial close process, reviewing monthly financial statements, overseeing fund administrators, managing the audit process, and performing other responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned from time to time. The successful candidate will have accounting and management experience in the asset management industry with a focus in either corporate credit or asset-backed securities. The position is located in our New York City office, full-time.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and/or prepare the monthly closing package to support the calculation of the Funds' NAVs including working with an external fund administrator when necessary
  • Provide financial information and reporting to internal management, external counterparties, and investors
  • Review month-end investor statements and other deliverables
  • Assist in the external audit process and coordinate the financial statement preparation process
  • Interact with senior management, corporate accounting, internal operations, analysts, and legal department


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS/BA required
  • 7 or more years of fund accounting experience from investment companies such as hedge funds, private equity funds, mutual funds, CLOs, or similar accounting
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), analytical and spreadsheet skills
  • Progress towards obtaining CPA

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA Strongly Preferred
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), analytical and spreadsheet skills.
  • Prior experience in fund accounting from investment companies such as hedge funds, private equity funds, mutual funds, CLOs, or similar accounting
  • Experience managing or coaching junior staff or early talent

Salary Range

Annual base salary between
$165,000.00-$175,000.00

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
