Full Job Description
Pay: $47.00/ hr

Incentive Eligible Position: Yes

Essential Functions:
  • Assess, diagnose, screen, and prevent language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
  • Communicate with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
  • Use tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
  • Educate patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.
  • Take detailed notes on patient history and progress.
  • Provide mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.
  • Evaluate patient progress and implement changes to therapy programs as required.

Skills Abilities:
  • Effective oral, written and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to complete competency CPR and First Aid.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with database management software.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical equations, to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously. Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.
  • Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.

Physical Demands:
  • Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
