Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assess and document speech therapy data related to patient evaluations.
  • Identify and track changes in patients' physical and emotional conditions.

  • Maintain necessary documentation as per legal and policy standards.
  • Instruct patients on monitoring their speech and practicing new skills.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Provides speech therapy services to patients with speech, language or swallowing disorders.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:
  • Master's Degree or foreign equivalent: Required


Licenses/Certifications:
  • Speech Pathologist licensure in the state of practice: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
  • American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): Preferred
  • Valid Driver's License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older: Required


Essential Functions:
  • Assesses and documents speech therapy data related to patient assessments, patient care needs, interventions and outcomes.
  • Identifies changes and trends throughout physical and emotional parameters.
  • Reviews treatment plans and assesses individual performances to modify, change or write new programs.
  • Maintains documentation as required by law, establishment policy and administrative regulation.
  • Instructs patients on ways to monitor speech and practice new skills.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
