Contracted In-Person Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Kuumba Academy Charter School - Wilmington, DE
Contract Type: In-Person, Part-Time/Full-Time Contracted Services

Position Overview

Kuumba Academy is seeking a Contracted In-Person Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality, student-centered speech and language services to scholars in grades K-8. The SLP will partner with our teachers, families, and student support team to ensure that students with communication needs receive services that promote academic success, personal growth, and confidence.

This contracted role offers flexibility while making a direct impact on the lives of our scholars.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide speech and language screenings, evaluations, and direct therapy for identified students in accordance with IEP goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support student growth in communication and academic participation.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to ensure services are integrated into classroom learning.
  • Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as required.
  • Support the school's restorative and culturally responsive practices, ensuring that services are delivered with equity, compassion, and respect.
  • Contribute to the Kuumba community by upholding and modeling the school's core values.
