Job Description

The Speech-Language Pathologist supports the mission, vision, core values, and objectives of Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center located in Torrance and San Pedro. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing patient evaluations, establishing and implementing a plan of care, monitoring patient's progress, interdisciplinary collaboration, discharge planning. The Speech-Language Pathologist should demonstrate professional communication and interpersonal skills including direct, honest, and compassionate behavior. The Speech Therapist is a licensed professional who is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice in accordance with regulatory agencies and the American Speech Therapy Association (ASHA). The Speech Therapist demonstrates proficient clinical knowledge and skills in providing and initiating treatment programs for individuals with swallowing, speech and cognitive impairments. Utilizing a collaborative team approach in providing care to; young, middle and older adult patients.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited program or equivalent education/experience.
  • Upon hire: California Speech Language Pathologist License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year in practice setting

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
