Speech-Language Pathologist Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary by placement but can include:
  • Provide school-based speech-language therapy services to PK-12 students
  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and assessments
  • Develop and implement IEP goals and therapy plans
  • Deliver direct therapy services through individual and small-group sessions
  • Support students with:
    • Articulation and phonological disorders
    • Receptive and expressive language needs
    • Social/pragmatic communication
    • Fluency disorders
    • Voice disorders
    • AAC and assistive communication needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Monitor progress and maintain compliant documentation
  • Support students' communication skills across educational environments
