This is an onsite role supporting a leading health system in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Position Summary

The Specialty Pharmacy Supervisor serves as the primary Longitude Rx pharmacist supporting specialty pharmacy services at Memorial Hospital Gulfport. This position partners closely with Memorial Pharmacy Leadership and Longitude Rx leadership to support the clinical, operational, quality, and growth objectives of the specialty pharmacy program.

The Specialty Pharmacy Supervisor provides clinical expertise, operational coordination, and specialty pharmacy subject matter support to help ensure the safe, effective, timely, and compliant delivery of specialty pharmacy services. The role works collaboratively with pharmacy leaders, providers, clinic staff, and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient access to specialty medications, optimize patient outcomes, and support program performance.

This position serves as a key liaison between Longitude Rx and Memorial teams, helping to align goals, facilitate communication, support workflow improvements, promote accreditation and regulatory compliance, and advance strategic initiatives. In addition to providing direct patient care services, the Specialty Pharmacy Supervisor contributes to quality improvement efforts, staff development activities, and specialty pharmacy program growth through a collaborative partnership with Memorial Pharmacy Leadership.

Core Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Longitude Rx pharmacist leader supporting specialty pharmacy services at Memorial Hospital Gulfport.
• Collaborate closely with Memorial Pharmacy Leadership and Longitude Rx leadership to support the strategic, operational, and clinical goals of the specialty pharmacy program.
• Coordinate day-to-day specialty pharmacy operations in partnership with Memorial Pharmacy Leaders, including prescription fulfillment, clinical services, medication access, patient support, and workflow optimization.
• Work alongside Memorial Pharmacy Leadership to identify opportunities for operational improvement, patient service enhancements, and program growth.
• Serve as a clinical and operational resource for specialty pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, providers, clinic staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Support implementation of specialty pharmacy policies, procedures, and best practices in collaboration with Memorial Pharmacy Leadership and Longitude Rx leadership.
• Assist Memorial Pharmacy Leaders in monitoring operational performance, patient outcomes, quality indicators, and accreditation standards, including URAC and ACHC requirements.
• Partner with Memorial Pharmacy Leadership to support onboarding, training, and professional development activities for specialty pharmacy staff.
• Collaborate with providers, clinic teams, payers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to enhance patient access to specialty medications and improve continuity of care.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, workflow enhancements, and patient care programs in coordination with Memorial Pharmacy Leadership and Longitude Rx leadership.
• Participate in data analysis, reporting, and performance reviews to identify trends, address barriers, and recommend solutions that improve program performance.
• Serve as a liaison between Longitude Rx and Memorial pharmacy teams, helping facilitate communication, alignment, and execution of shared initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, payer requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.

• Provide direct patient care services, including medication counseling, clinical assessments, adherence monitoring, medication therapy management, and ongoing patient follow-up.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an A.C.P.E. accredited college or university required.

Licenses/Certifications: Current Mississippi Pharmacist licensure required.

Experience: Three (3) years of pharmacy practice experience required. Specialty pharmacy experience preferred. Previous pharmacy leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice principles, pharmacotherapy, medication safety, patient counseling, and clinical monitoring.
• Knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations, medication access processes, healthcare reimbursement, and patient support programs.
• Knowledge of applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, accreditation standards, payer requirements, and healthcare delivery systems.
• Strong leadership, people management, coaching, and staff development skills.
• Strong clinical assessment, patient counseling, medication therapy management, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage pharmacy operations, establish priorities, coordinate resources, and resolve complex operational issues.
• Ability to evaluate and monitor complex specialty therapies and utilize clinical information to support medication management.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with providers, interdisciplinary healthcare teams, payers, and other stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with electronic health records, pharmacy systems, Microsoft Office applications, and related technologies.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, payer, and organizational requirements.

Equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree or years of experience may be considered, provided the candidate can demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the role.
