As a full-time, nonexempt Specialty Pharmacist you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy services. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a direct impact by ensuring the accuracy of medication orders, verifying technician-prepared products, and safeguarding controlled substances. You'll contribute to a high-performing team by mentoring new staff, maintaining seamless daily operations, and supporting the Director in optimizing pharmacy performance.
Schedule: This full-time, nonexempt position will work 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
Primary Responsibilities:- Review and manage specialty medication therapies for complex, chronic, or high-cost conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling, focusing on adherence, administration, side effects, and outcomes
- Coordinate care with providers, payers, and manufacturers to ensure therapy access and continuity
- Oversee prior authorizations and utilization management, ensuring compliance with payer and program requirements
- Monitor effectiveness and safety of therapy, including lab values, adherence metrics, and patient-reported outcomes
- Ensure compliance with REMS and accreditation standards, including documentation and reporting requirements
- Support quality initiatives and outcomes reporting, meeting specialty pharmacy performance and regulatory metrics

Required Qualifications:- ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree or PharmD (highly preferred)
- Current New York Pharmacist license in good standing
- Proficient computer skills with pharmacy systems and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in hospital or retail setting
- Authorization experience
