Full Job Description
The Staff Specialty Operations Pharmacist applies clinical and operational knowledge to ensure effective and compliant processing of specialty medication prescription orders to be mailed to patients' homes and/or provider offices from CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy.

You will receive inbound phone calls and talk with providers, patients and teammates to solve clinical and/or escalated issues including drug interactions, therapy regimens and medication stability.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Receive inbound phone calls from patients and providers to review prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness of therapy.
  • Check for drug interactions and use resources/guidelines to support decision-making.
  • Use problem-solving skills and ability to use resources for professional decision-making.
  • Work on assignments that vary and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action while following established guidelines and department procedures.
  • Make decisions with minimal direction, occasionally in ambiguous situations and receive guidance where needed.
  • Work independently and within a team setting to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic that is focused, accurate and can produce in a highly productive environment.


Location: This is a remote position, but you must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, Florida, Ohio, or Texas.

Required Qualifications
  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (Bachelor of Science or PharmD).
  • Active PHARMACIST license from the Arizona, Florida, Ohio, OR Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • You must reside and work full time within the state of Arizona, Florida, Ohio, OR Texas.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a pharmacist in a high-volume retail, hospital, specialty or mail order pharmacy practice environment.
  • Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with ability to communicate effectively within the team and to patients or caregivers.
  • Proficient in computers and comfortable trouble-shooting technology issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and OneNote.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluent in Spanish and English - If applicable, please specify this on application/resume when applying.
  • Pharmacist Board Certification - Oncology, Specialty, Geriatric, Pharmacotherapy, or Ambulatory.
  • Prior experience in a Specialty Pharmacy setting.
  • Experience with pharmacy benefits management.
  • Previous Commercial, Medicare or Medicaid experience.
  • Prior clinical experience in a managed care setting.
  • Experience working in a Remote/Work at home setting.


Additional Information

Hours:

CenterWell Pharmacy hours of operation:
  • Monday-Friday 8 a.m-11 p.m. EST and Saturday 8 a.m.-6:30 p.m. EST.


Position Shift(s):
  • 10:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Eastern Time (EST) or 11:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m. EST (If located in Arizona) and rotating Saturday coverage.
  • 1 or 2 closing shifts of 2:30 p.m.- 11 p.m. EST per week.
  • Holiday shifts are rotated based on business operational hours and coverage needs.
  • Overtime may be available and is communicated by leadership - Overtime may be voluntary or mandatory based on business needs.


Work Style: Remote/Work at Home (Must reside in Ohio, Arizona, Texas or Florida)

Work at Home/Remote Requirements

To ensure Hybrid Office/Home associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Hybrid Office/Home associates must meet the following criteria:
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone and computer equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$115,200 - $158,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
